The headline dates

These are the dates most people are actually looking for when they search for MTD deadlines.

Quarterly update 1Due by 7 August.
Quarterly update 2Due by 7 November.
Quarterly update 3Due by 7 February.
Quarterly update 4Due by 7 May.
Final declarationDue by 31 January after the tax year ends.

Tax-year quarters versus calendar quarters

The tracker keeps both frames visible because people often search for two different things. Some want the standard tax-year quarter framing that starts on 6 April. Others want the simpler calendar-quarter framing used by some software setups.

The important point is that the filing dates stay the same. The shape of the quarter can change, but the deadlines still land on 7 August, 7 November, 7 February, and 7 May.

What the deadline tracker does not change

  • It does not change the tax-payment dates.
  • It does not replace the year-end filing step.
  • It does not ask for sign-up or software selection before showing the dates.
